Seek and you will find. Knock and the door will be opened. Ask and you will receive.
The understanding of spiritual things is hidden to the mind of the earthly inhabitants. They revel in their knowledge and profess their understanding, but the spiritual truths elude their grasp. Think of trying to instruct a pig in advanced math, or a monkey the nutrition of a banana.
Because humans understand math and nutrition, they think highly of their abilities. But as humans are above the animal, so is the spiritual above the carnal.
Man was created on the sixth day with the other beasts of the field. They are land dwelling creatures, giving to basics needs of survival. Man is above the beast because he has the ability to attain higher learning. Simply, he can be instructed to know right from wrong, good from evil. Although he has this ability – he typically does not follow the higher way.
From the very beginning, the command went forth, “Let us make man in our image”. This universal instruct is that all mankind is to be taught in the right ways of the Creator. By nature, he follows instinct to gather food, shelter, reproduce, survive. In the original garden of creation, they were instructed by the Creator Himself to know the right way. The desires of the natural man, lust of the eyes, lust of the flesh, and the pride of life, lead them to fall from the elevated calling. In their desire to have more and go higher – they tried to cheat the process and were cast down. Their access to the heavenly was sealed off and were given to labor in the earth and toil with their hands.
The chosen rejected their higher calling and rather than enter the presence of angles, he now gloats that he is better than a pig. Oh foolish man, you could have been great, but chose rather to destroy yourself. And having selected your destiny, you are quick to blame others for your impudence and ignorance. Will you never learn?
Having great desire for His creation to attain to their prescribed place, the Father of light, truth and life has given a final opportunity for His select to rise up. In latter times He sent a light, who in the image of God instructed the world that through humility they could rise to the calling given in the beginning. This Messiah was a great and shinning light, and His testimony has gone into all the world. He overcame darkness in every way and gave shout to all to follow. He is the door to the rightful place of mankind.
Narrow is the way that leads to life, and few there be who find it.
Man, in his great ignorance, has once again rejected the call of greatness. He is loved and was instructed to walk in the heights, among the host of heaven; but he has rejected the calling again and again – choosing the earthly and his place in the mud.
This is where it is written (John 3)…
And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
Man is proud and chooses to be his own master. He rejects the lordship of the Creator over him. Therefore, he rejects following the truth in subjection and tries to find every other way to inherit the blessing that was his.
Like the Israelites after leaving Egypt, Mosses was away for forty days only, and they went to make a golden calf and worshiped it as the god that delivered them. Foolish right? Well, today it is no different, people reject the leading of God’s spirit and choose rather to trust in their religious organization. These are today’s golden calves. As Stephan said, they worship the works of their own hands. They use the Bible and Christ as merchandise while they promote themselves.
This is shown in Revelation by analogy. Chapter 11 speaks of the two witnesses who were killed by the general mob, and their dead bodies left to lie in the street of the great city. The people of the nations rejoiced that the witnesses no longer gave lively testimony. Have you considered who these two witnesses are? These are the Word of God and the Testimony of Christ. This is the light that came into the world, but men chose darkness. Sure, they talk about God and the Bible, but the Word of God in not alive in them. They hold religious beliefs and follow doctrines of men, and shun sincerity and humility. They do not know the Father, nor do they hear His voice. This is the blind leading the blind. They have a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof (II Timothy 3:5). This is the blasphemous women riding the beast. The great false prophet. They speak of the Bible, but do not know it. Jesus is praised in their churches and at the same time, they reject Him. They want His salvation, but they do not want to live the life He modeled. They want the ticket to heaven paid for with one hour of church on Sunday. While rejecting the call to follow Him in sacrifice to God (Romans 12:1).
In heaviness of heart I share these things, for the temple of God is in ruins. These are periless times.
And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ. — Revelation 12:17
The woman is the people of God and the dragon is the Satan, the fallen angel set to destroy all mankind.
And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations. — Revelation 13:7
You can find the right way. Give diligence, watch and pray. Do not listen to the popular voice. You must seek God in spirit and in truth, and learn to hear His voice. The time is short. His arm is outstretched to receive you. Open the Bible and read. Learn to hear His voice. Seek to understand His Word.
The Key to Understanding is available to all. But the way to destruction is broad and there are many diversions along the way. God bless your journey.
